Leon Brown

Leon is a military veteran, academic, and filmmaker. While serving in the Navy in England, Japan, and the U.S., Leon spearheaded, developed, and overhauled secret clearance initiatives that affected policies and standard operating procedures totaling hundreds of millions of dollars. He engaged international dignitaries for high profile confidential operations linked to U.S. national security while leading multilocation units during wartime. Furthermore, Leon was responsible for overseeing the physical and mental wellbeing for an entire U.S. Naval base comprised of hundreds of newly enlisted personnel and seasoned commissioned officers.

In addition to his extensive military service, Leon is an academic with B.A. degrees in Communication Studies and Hebrew from the University of San Diego and the University of the Free State, respectively, and a dual Master’s in History and Religion from Westminster. He also taught at three different graduate schools as he pursued a PhD in Hebrew and Linguistics where he sought to develop a formula to discover an anaphor’s referent in multi-noun phrases. Leon paused his academic pursuits when he became a filmmaker. From faith-based films to horror and drama, Leon’s work has received international acclaim. From the Burbank International Film Festival to Berlin International Art Film Festival and Scare Fest Horror Convention to Cannes Indie Shorts Awards, Leon’s nominations and awards as an actor, producer, and writer include Best Horror Feature and Short Films, Best Drama Film, and Best Actor in a Horror Film, Detective Film, and Medical Procedural. His work was also recognized at First Glance Film Festival, Hollywood Gold Awards, Independent Shorts Awards, Venice Short Film Festival, and Paris Film Festival. Beyond film festivals, Leon’s work as an actor extends to the big screen and television. He can be seen on Obliterated (Netflix), Snowfall (FX/Hulu), and All the Queen’s Men (Tyler Perry Studios; 13-episode guest star).
